Gavin Osborn is a 47yr-old singer-songwriter with six solo albums under his belt, having spent over 20 years touring the UK, Europe and Australia with his brand of witty, storytelling folk songs. Familiar to listeners of BBC 6Music and Radio 4, Gavin’s tours and shows include support slots with the likes of Belle & Sebastian, Frank Turner as well as festival appearances at the likes of Latitude and Green Man. His last album, Scrolling Home, totally sold out. Largely because he didn’t order enough of them. Now they are fully available (in CD form) at his live shows, where younger listeners still assume they are coasters.
Gavin co-wrote a hit trilogy of storytelling shows with comedian Daniel Kitson and, during lockdown, his viral hit ‘Born In The NHS’ was featured on Russell Howard’s Home Time on Sky One. His band, The Comment Section, consists of one multi-instrumentalist, John Hare (from Nick Parker’s band The False Alarms).
“Osborn processes his anger into a kind of likeably grumpy bewilderment and uses it to unite his audience. A comfort blanket for post-Brexit alienation. One of the year’s most relatable releases” – The Observer
“Poignant, warm, storytelling that’s not afraid to be both very funny and very sad, and is at its best when it’s both” – Drowned In Sound
“A brilliantly accomplished singer-songwriter with touchingly quirky lyrics” – Chortle
